  • Medical Mavericks

    Published 16/03/22

As part of BSW we have been lucky enough to have Medical Mavericks working with students in school. Medical Mavericks are promoting jobs in STEM that might not be as well-known from a Radiographer, Anatomical Pathology Technologist to Cardiologist.

Students lighted up when they were able to use the ultra sound machine, students looked at a growth plate in Ren’s arm to show that he is still growing. Students took blood from a prosthetic arm using a medical needle, tried Key Hole Surgery, use the infra-red vein scanner as well as using an iPhone to scan their retina.

Students were truly blown away by the experience and are discussing their possible careers in the NHS and medical fields.

A fantastic day – thank you Medical Mavericks!
