Beauty and the Beast at the Palace Theatre

We recently took students to the Palace Theatre to watch the fantastic Beauty and the Beast the Musical. Students had a fantastic time and loved the experience!

“Even on the coach to Manchester the atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone was super excited to watch the performance and costume & set designers.

Performers and backstage helpers of our own Beauty and the Beast Musical, at Co-op Academy Leeds, were all looking forward to taking inspiration from the performance and implanting into our very own.

When we arrived at the theatre in Manchester, everyone was pumped with adrenaline, especially whilst we were queuing up. The theatre itself was a beautiful building which made our expectations for the performance even higher.

The performance didn’t disappoint! The set, the costumes, the singing and the dancing were all incredible. Especially the large numbers like ‘Be our Guest’. When asked ‘what was your favourite part of the performance’ many responded with “The songs!”

For many, it was their first time going to a theatre, which made the trip even more beneficial as it provided them with an experience they’ll never forget.

Overall, the trip to see Beauty and the Beast the musical was a great idea. It inspired us and provided us with a vast amount of new ideas and it widened our imagination. Not only that but by going to the performance, we were able to implement new vocabulary and speech into other aspects of school such as English. I hope to go on another trip to the theatre soon.”
