We won Envision’s Co-op Academies Community Apprentice!

Our students took part in Envision UK’s Co-op Academies Community Apprentice final this week. The competition is loosely based on the TV series, The Apprentice.

Our students competed against students from our sister academies in Leeds, Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent.

They had to come up with a way to make the biggest difference they could in their community.

The students were praised for “the commitment they showed to each other and their community, raising awareness & creatively helping those suffering from mental health issues”.

They ran a campaign raising awareness for mental health in the academy, for both students and staff. As part of this they handed out mood stickers to Year 7s to help others connect with them and created a Tree of Freedom covered with positive and encouraging messages.

After careful deliberation the judges decided that we were one of their winners alongside Co-op Academy Swinton. We won £500, some of which goes to rewarded their hard work and the rest going back into the Academy to help other students.

We are so proud of all the students who took part and thank you to Mrs Ratcliffe for supported them all the way through!
