Designing the logo for new £35m #LeedsPipes initiative
Some of our Year 9 girls worked with Leeds City Council and Vital Energi to design the new name and logo for LeedsPipes, a new £35m heat and hot water system that is set to help thousands of homes and businesses in Leeds.
The network will connect to the Leeds Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility (RERF) to nearly 2,000 council homes and businesses in the city centre.
It is expected to cut 22,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from the city annually, taking steam generated at RERF and converting into hot water. This will then be distributed along a 16.5km network of pipes, providing an environmentally friendly source of heating and hot water.
