Our Stephen Lawrence Committee meets every week where they discuss issues such as tolerance, acceptance and equality.

They are named after Stephen Lawrence, a school boy who was murdered in a racist attack in London. They use his legacy to inspire them to make a difference in their own communities.

The students lead assemblies on issues and educate other students on how they too can make a difference. They also fundraise throughout the year for local and global issues, collect food for food banks and work on campaigns like MEND’s ‘Nice to be Nice’.

For the last few years, the group have attended WE Day, a celebration of young people making a difference in their local global communities.The day brings together world-renowned speakers and award-winning performers with tens of thousands of young people to celebrate their contributions and kick-start another year of change.

These amazing young adults are really making a difference, and hoping to inspire you to do the same.

The Committee is run by Ms Driscoll and a group of student ambassadors. If you want to get involved then come along to one of their meetings in DF every Wednesday first break.
