KS3 Curriculum

Key Themes/Topics Year 7

Students will cover 2 activities each term from a variety of activities e.g. football, netball, basketball, rugby, rounders, cricket, softball, badminton, gymnastics, health-related fitness and athletics.  Students build upon the physical development and fundamental skills covered at Primary school. They are encouraged to become more confident, competent and refined in basic physical skills, while being introduced to wider roles within sport

These get progressively more challenging during the key stage and build upon prior learning. Knowledge recall and ability to orate and apply key tier 2 and 3 language forms part of these termly assessments also.

KS4 Curriculum

KS4 Core PE: At key stage 4 students participate in two lessons per week, this enables them to continue to refine their performance and enhance their involvement with other roles within sport. Students are offered a varied curriculum which builds upon prior learning whilst also introducing new sports for students to adapt their skills towards. Students are not provided with attainment grades within Key Stage 4 PE due to this not being an examination-based subject. Students are instead assessed on their ability to continue to show high levels of effort and behaviour. Below is a typical diet of activities students will follow in Key Stage 4 PE.
