Emma has worked at the academy since 2011, in a number of roles within the pastoral team including attendance, safeguarding and specialist provision, which means she has built strong relationships with many families. Since 2023, Emma has been the Designated Safeguarding Lead and works closely with staff, students and their families to ensure that they are kept safe and receive support when needed. She is passionate about promoting relational practice, as well as developing our trauma informed practice to ensure that all students, regardless of their backgrounds, are supported to have good outcomes and improved life chances.

Emma works hard to ensure that all our students have access to a secure and inclusive learning environment in which they can access a full and rewarding curriculum, as well as learning vital life skills. She is also passionate about ensuring that promoting positive mental health for students is a priority for all staff and that students who need extra support have access to it in a timely manner. Emma also trains staff within the Co-op Academies Trust, especially Early Career Teachers, around Mental Health and Trauma Informed Practice so that staff across all the schools in our trust are equipped with the skills and knowledge to support all children in our care.
