Easter Break and changes when we return

Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly, I would like to say thank you to everyone for your ongoing hard work and support throughout lockdown. This has been an especially challenging term but thanks to your help we have been able to prioritise the students continually, and are able to begin the transition back to normal.

During this time, we were visited by Ofsted and were pleased to receive some very positive comments about our Academy. We are very happy to be steadily driving the Academy towards Outstanding status.

Following the Easter holiday, we will be implementing some changes to the school day in order to begin our transition back to normal. Firstly, the school day will now begin at 8:25am for all students, starting the first day back. Gates will open at 8:20am allowing time for the students to settle. As well as this, reusable masks will be handed out as students enter the school and they will be expected to keep these for the remainder of the year.

We recognise that within our rich and multicultural community the celebrations of Ramadan will begin during April and continue into the term. We are highly supportive of these celebrations in any way we can, and students will be given details about this once they are back. Over this period students are permitted one day of authorised absence due to religious observance but the academy must be informed prior to this day.

Whether you are celebrating Easter, Ramadan, Passover, Holi or any other celebrations over this break, we wish you an incredibly happy and safe holiday

Yours sincerely,

Mr P Brockwell
