Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is extra funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities. The aim is to close the gaps between them and their peers, making the education provided equal and equitable. The next pupil Premium review will be in April 2020.

Impact of Pupil Premium Spending 2018-2019

  • The quality of teaching, learning and interventions improved. The progress 8 score of disadvantaged students rose to -0.26. English P8 for disadvantaged students was 0.04 (compared to -0.2 the previous year)
  • Attendance improved to nearly 94%. There was no in school gap between the attendance of disadvantaged students and non-disadvantaged students.
  • Persistent absence for disadvantaged students dropped by over 8pp
