Science

KS3 Curriculum

Key Themes/Topics Year 7:

Cells, Organ systems, Reproduction

Particles, Elements, Reactions, Acids and Alkalis

Forces, Sound, Light, Space

Assessments (e.g. students will be assessed each half term with topic tests, and a final assessment at the end of each year)

Students are assessed at the end of each topic.

Key Themes/Topics Year 8:

Health, Ecosystems, Adaptation

Periodic table, Separation techniques, Metals and acids, The Earth

Electricity and Magnetism

Energy

Motion and pressure

Assessments (e.g. students will be assessed each half term with topic tests, and a final assessment at the end of each year)

Students are assessed at the end of each topic.

Key Themes/Topics Year 9:

New technology and turning point in biology

New technology and turning point in chemistry

New technology and turning point in physics

Assessments (e.g. students will be assessed each half term with topic tests, and a final assessment at the end of each year)

Students are assessed at the end of each topic. They have an end of KS3 test in February, this then resets them to start GCSE content.
