We raised over £500 and ran 10 marathons for Just One Day!

Our students and staff ran the equivalent of 10 marathons to raise money for the Lord Mayor of Leeds chosen charity Just One Day.

Students from Year 7 to Year 10 spent an hour doing as many laps as they could of our astro-turf, each runner donated 50p. They were inspired by Mrs Foster who ran the London Marathon a few weeks ago, raising money for St Gemma’s Hospice.

In return for their hard work they were treated to a free ice cream from the Co-op Ice Cream Van!

Year 8 students also took part in an Enterprise challenge, taking an initial investment of £10 and using it to raise as much money as possible.

The Marathon effort carried on all day, and our runners never gave up!

By the end of the day, our students had managed to run an amazing 10 marathons and raise over £500!

The Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress and Gemma the Giraffe came to award our top runners with medals and thank them for all their hard work.

The Lord Mayor was so impressed by how much our students had shown they cared.

We’re very proud of our students and staff for succeeding together and raising so much money for such an amazing charity.

If you would like to donate, you can do that here.
