We hosted a free MFL CPD event
This week our highly skilled and successful MFL department hosted an incredible, free conference day for teachers from lots of local schools. It was a day of collaboration and co-operative working at its best.
Over 80% of our students are EAL. This makes the need for high quality language provision in the academy absolutely essential. It was important for our staff to make sure that regardless of which languages attendees teach or how much experience they have in the classroom, this event was accessible and inspiring.
Attendees were able to give short presentations in a mini teach-meet. This encourages inter-school collaboration, making our community stronger and more supportive.
The afternoon session were workshops that included training on engaging vocabulary learning techniques and metacognition in learning. These were led by our MFL department and Assistant Vice Principal Mrs Webb.
It was a great day and we loved having local teachers join us!
