Chemistry!
Year 7 and Year 8 have enjoyed seeing some chemistry demonstrations in the Science lab last week. Both year groups got to see Golden Rain which involves a precipitation reaction followed by recrystallisation to achieve glistening yellow crystals of lead iodide. Year 7 also got to witness the amazing Iodine Clock in which varying the concentration of one of the chemicals affects the time a colourless solution takes to suddenly turn dark blue. Both classes were enthusiastic and impressed by the chemistry they witnessed!
