We are very proud of the diverse nature of our community. Our students and staff come from many different backgrounds and speak over 70 different languages. I see this as a real strength of our Academy.
We want all students to achieve their maximum potential and make sure that the Academy is an outstanding learning community.
Our students work hard, behave with consideration and show respect for others. We offer an exciting curriculum, personalised to meet the needs of individual students. Our staff take time to develop a full understanding of the needs of each student so that they can provide effective support and challenge.
All students entering the Academy are placed in small coaching groups of up to 12 students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13. This shows each student they are valued. It also encourages older students to encourage and support the younger members of our community.
Success is built upon a strong partnership between parents, students, staff and the local community. We work closely with our local communities to build lasting relationships.
Our academy is sponsored by The Co-operative Group; the UK’s largest mutual business, owned by millions of members. The Co-op is run ethically in line with its values and principles, allowing them to (better way of business). These values and principles form the basis of the Academy’s ethos.
The Co-operative also sponsors a number of successful secondary academy schools in Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent and here in Leeds.
We work in collaboration with Leeds City College, giving our students access to a wide range of expertise and resources.
If you would like to come and visit the Academy to see how we do things, just get in touch.
