Co-op Academy Leeds

Co-op Academy Leeds is a welcoming and diverse community where we provide an ambitious and inspirational education that supports our young people to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Our broad range of exciting opportunities – both inside and outside the classroom – prepares students for their future and ensures that they become compassionate and responsible citizens.

We are proud to be part of the Co-op Academies Trust and the ‘Ways of Being’ are embedded in everything we do within the academy and our wider community. We have very high expectations of our staff and students and have a culture built upon mutual trust and respect. Our respectful, calm and productive environment is a place where everybody can thrive and enjoy working and learning together.

It is a privilege to welcome you to Co-op Academy Leeds, a truly diverse and inclusive school where student progress and wellbeing are at the core of everything we do. We have very high expectations at Co-op Academy Leeds - students learn and achieve their best when they feel safe, happy and have clear standards and expectations. Our warm and supportive relationships with students mean that children can thrive and become independent and resilient learners who leave us at sixteen with an incredible future ahead of them.

Leaders are determined that all pupils access a high-quality, broad curriculum, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language. Leaders ensure that they have a very good understanding of pupils’ starting points. They use this information to ensure that pupils get the specific help and support they need to progress.

The values of the Co-op Academies Trust underpin leaders’ work to build a strong school community. The idea of equality, in particular, is strong. Pupils are proud of being part of a multicultural school community, and leaders ensure that all pupils are valued.

There has been a strong focus on curriculum development recently. Consequently, leaders at all levels have clearly mapped the ‘powerful knowledge’ they want pupils to gain.

There are thriving extra-curricular music clubs which pupils enjoy. Leaders provide sports equipment so that pupils can participate in school and local competitions. Pupils feel cared for by their teachers.
