Vision and Values

Vision and Values

We’re very proud of our strong relationships here at Leeds. Students are supported by well-qualified and passionate staff. We promote and reward great behaviour through our House system and our Co-op values.

The House system creates a family ethos with houses including students of different ages, experiences and talents. It allows us to recognise, celebrate and reward every young person in our learning community. The House system also promotes resilience and confidence through our Co-op values.

Our Co-op Values

Students can earn Pins of Pride for each of our Co-op values.

Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.

Self-responsibility: Everyone will act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we are independent learners.

Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multi-cultural academy, with students from all over the world. It is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all have equal chances to succeed.

Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.

Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.

Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.

These are the values of co-operatives all over the world; what ever we do, they are the way that we do it.

Ways of Being Co-op

As a part of a Co-op Academy, we all feel responsible, valued, empowered and trusted to do the right thing for each other.

The four Ways of Being guide our future.

The Co-operative Values sit right beside our vision:

We will all show these values in their daily lives and praise each other when we see someone doing the same. Find out more about our Co-op commitment.
